PIANGO Strengthen Relationship with Members

The Pacific Islands Association of Non Government Organisations’ (PIANGO) 4th ‘Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting’ (PIMER) Consultation, held at the Pacific Theological College (PTC), focused on the ‘Consolidation through Strengthening Relationships between PIANGO Secretariat, PIANGO Board and its members, the National Liaison Units(NLUs).

The PIMER Consultation is an important and integral annual working conference of the PIANGO Secretariat that pooled Executive Directors of the national NLUs, to review and appraise PIANGO’s performance against its agreed Strategic Plan.

NLU Executive Directors from the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Zealand/Aotearoa, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are in attendance for this year’s PIMER Circle.  Also in attendance are Resource Persons from NZAID, the International Centre for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), AUSAID Pacific Leadership Program (PLP), the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) and the European Union to guide and mainstream the direction of this year’s review & appraisal process.

The NLUs are Umbrella Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) designated by the registered NGOs and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), to be their focal points for PIANGO and coordinating arms for issue-based developmental activities through projects in the respective national jurisdictions. 

The Consultation was held from the 20 – 23 April at the Jovili Meo Mission Centre, at the Pacific Theological College in Suva, Fiji Islands.
